Original e-mail message: Brian, I have talked to you on the phone and have bought several of your items. I would like to thank you for all of the very helpful information you have supplied to us. I have two wide frame cubs that both of my sons pull. We have had very good success in the past two years. The tractors are as close to being twins as I could possibly make them (can't have one son win and not the other). We are running 16hp Kohlers (one is a magnum and one has points), 26-12.00x12 Carlisle tires, 2nd gear is a 20 tooth and third is a 22 tooth, we run 4,200 RPM stock class, 1,200 lb. clutch spring with lockwasher and spacer and OEM clutch disc with the rear flex coupler. We have a 30mm stock carburetor. We pull in the 950, 1,050 and 1,150 classes.

102 Cub Cadet. Where we pull: Crockett mini pullers, in West Tn. I pull it in two stock classes 8 - 11 hp 4000 rpm's 1050lb. and in a 12 - 14 hp 4000 rpm's 1050 lb. Everything in the engine is stock, as far as the rules will allow. It has 26x12-12 Carlise cut tires. In 2004 I ended up in 2nd in point, 2005 had engine problems, know in 2006 I am in 1st in 8 - 11 hp and 2nd in 12 -14 hp. I am hoping to end with a strong year.

Description: The club I pull in has 6 classes, 1,000 lb., 1,200 lb., 1,200 lb. Open, 1,400 lb., 1,400 lb. Multi-Engine, and 1,600 lb Open. I have two machines of my own, first year pulling with both of them, the smaller one is called Copperhead, and pulls in our 1,000 pound and 1,200 lb. classes. The tractor has a 503 Rotax 2 cylinder, 2 stroke, snowmobile engine for it's powerplant, primary and secondary clutches are from the snowmobile, too. The chassis is a Gilson GT-16, I believe it was made in 1966, the paint is sunburst orange (found on Chevrolet cobalt and other Chevy cars) rear end is stock but with spider gear axles, instead of the older keyway axles (I learned the hard way which one is stronger when I lost a wheel in the Casselmen super pull) tires are Carlisle Power Lug 26-12.00x12, wheels are off a Chevrolet S10 but was widened to 11" to fit the tires. I am the 2006 points winner in my classes with this machine. my second machine is called Hellcat, its been through some drastic changes through this winter, as you see in the picture its not quite finish but worked well, it pulls in the 1200 pound open, 1400 pound, 1400 pound multi engine and the 1600 pound multi engine, what i did have for a power plant was a Honda cb900c 900 cc 4 stroke motorcycle engine, it had some good power but its transmission on it was to big so i couldn't get the gear ratio i wanted to get, i have a ford ranger 5 speed transmission, to a Chevrolet s10 rear end, 373 ratio, tires are firestone maximum flotation all terrain tires but modified to a chevron tread. tire size is 31x15x15. now what i have on it is a Polaris 650 3 cylinder 2 stroke skidoo engine, basically the same set up as Copperhead but with the 5 speed trans and S10 rear end.

  115. A typical garden tractor pull... from John Bosch.

I was laid up most all of the summer and I have read your website beginning to end. My tractor pulling club and two other local clubs got together and had a benefit pull at our church to help cover medical bills I racked-up over the summer. I have attached a couple of pictures, As you can see we had a lot of fun and we had over 75 hooks split between two sleds that day. At the end of the day we had a pig roast and Christian/Country band for entertainment. This just shows pulling clubs are more then just people who love to compete, they are caring people.

Other: This tractor will pull with the Potomac & Shenandoah Antique Tractor and Engine Club, Inc., at Jefferson Country and Berkeley Country, W.V. It will pull in the Altered Stock Class. This tractor was not built to run for any points championship, it's just a father and son project. It was built as a small "thank you" to all the great people that helped with the recovery of my son's AML, (Acute Myelogenous Leukemia). (How can someone repay anyone for saving your son's life?) Leukemia is a cancer of the blood-forming cells. So a BIG thank you to our lord, everyone and anyone I may not have mentioned for their hard work and support in our time of need.........Thank You!!
Jason, my son is doing very well. You know, we have a amazing Lord and He has really looked out for us guys. The glory is all His. We have found out that most people don't know or don't understand about Leukemia, this it is a very curable illness. My tractor was build by Jason, I, and a lot of the tips off your web site. Jason spent 7 weeks in VCU Massey Cancer Center in Richmond Va, (we can't say enough about those guys), about 150 miles from home. He has had 4 treatments here at home in Winchester, and is doing great. This amazing God we have has given me a 2nd chance with my son. With all this said I can only give the glory for all this to our lord.
Here's a link to a blood drive we are having in our son's name.... People really do care but, just don't know how to show it or how to help...we have some great people around.

I used your want ad section to pick up a motor (from Bud Casale) and a rear end (from Greg Edwards) both great guys by the way. I made a donation to you to help out with your site and keep the free press alive and well. Thanks again for a great service, I wish your shop was closer to the east coast, I would really pick your brain and send you some work.

We pull with the MT Pocket Pullers Association in the 0-13hp Stock class. Thanks to Brian Miller, I learned about building a competitive pulling tractor. It takes a few years to be able to produce good competitive tractors. My son pulls a Cub 100, which is a good looking tractor.

The purple one is my grandsonís. Itís a Ford tractor with a Foote Jones gear box. The frame is two 1-1/2" pipes that run end to end and hold it all together. This tractor started out as Cub Cadet 124 with a 12hp Kohler that was found in a weed patch in our neighbor's backyard. With an uncounted amount of modifications and a lot of hard work we have what you see here today. Now we have a 12hp Cub Cadet Stock Altered. we're going to pull with the Christian County Tractor Pulling Association in central Illinois for the 2009 season. We have a few more things to complete but we have one practice pull in and it looks to be a strong puller. Thank you for all the information you have on your web sites. Driver: Cale Holmes of Schomberg, Ontario, Canada.
Description: The tractor started out as a "Plymouth" garden tractor which I believe were assembled in Milton, Ontario, Canada. All that we had to start with was the frame, transaxle and front axle. The clutch and brake was missing, along with sheet metal, engine, etc. My son wanted a Ford, so we got a hood from a wrecked 1210 compact and cut it down. It has the K341 Kohler, and ironically we have found out the transaxle is the same as what was used in the Ford LGT 100 tractor. My son will pull it in a class for drivers under 15, weighing in at 650 lbs. We will be pulling it at garden tractor pulls and fairs across Central Ontario.
